POSITIONS:


  ENERGY: support alternative and renewable energy. Raise café standards. Support the research and development of the electric car. R&D for battery technology. Work on building a renewable energy society. Support wind, solar and biomass. Support rail and mass transit. Build high-speed rail between Baltimore & Washington. BUILD THE PURPLE LINE. 

  ENVIRONMENT: Clean up and protect the Bay. Save Maryland woodland, farms and open spaces. Redevelop the urban areas and Baltimore to help stop the growth of sprawl. Support stronger clean water and clean air laws. Work to pass the Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act 2006. 

  WAR: We need to turn the war over to the Iraqis. We need to be out as soon as possible. I would follow the Brzezinski plan. Have the Iraqi Prime Minister ask us to leave. Declare victory. We gave the people a democracy. Lets bring in The United Nations and other NGO’S and leave. I would be out within a year.

  HEALTH CARE: Make Health care more affordable and available to everyone. Have the government provide health care to all persons that make fewer than 120% of poverty level income. Work with health care providers, insurance companies and Drug companies to lower health care cost. 

  EDUCATION: Expand Pell Grants to make college accessible to the poor and middle class. Make student loans more affordable. Support universities to keep tuition cost down. Provide everyone with 2 years of community college. Re-work no child left behind. Provide more funding for pre-k and special education.

  HOUSING: Have the federal government work with and provide more support to local communities. Provide more subsidized loans. Create land trust. Help low to moderate-income families buy homes.

I’m running because Maryland needs leadership for a change.

I grew up in east Baltimore in a working class family. I’ve worked my way through college and law school.

I’ve been a member in 3 unions. I have had a variety of jobs and my experience is that of working Marylanders. 

I’m not a career politician.  I don’t owe my position to special interest groups, lobbyist or corporate interest. 

I’ll work for you the men, women and families of Maryland. I will put people first. 

Maryland needs bold new ideas, new plans, and new leadership. That’s what I offer. I’d appreciate your vote.
